Motion on an incline
Tilt it a little and watch gravity and friction compete.
The block is released from rest. When the component of gravity along the incline exceeds the maximum static friction, the block accelerates down the slope; otherwise it stays at rest. In this model, the sliding acceleration does not depend on mass.
Displacement along incline vs. time
Think about it
Will increasing only the mass make the block slide down the incline faster?
No. With the angle and friction coefficient unchanged, the component of gravity along the incline, the friction force and the inertia all increase in proportion to the mass, so the acceleration stays the same.
Model assumptions5 m incline · starts from rest · max static friction coefficient equals kinetic · replays after reaching the bottom
