Ideal transformer
Change the number of turns and step the AC voltage up or down by the turns ratio.
The alternating magnetic flux passes through both the primary and secondary coils, and the induced voltage is proportional to the number of turns. An ideal transformer loses no energy, so stepping up the voltage reduces the current in the same proportion.
Output voltage vs. secondary turns
Input voltage and primary turns use the current settings.
Think about it
With the input voltage and primary turns unchanged, how does the output voltage change if the number of secondary turns is increased to 2 times its original value?
The output voltage increases to 2 times its original value. Since U₂/U₁ = N₂/N₁, the output voltage is proportional to the number of secondary turns.
